“I do not believe one can settle how much we ought to give. I am afraid the only safe rule is to give more than we can spare.”

– C.S. Lewis

Let’s amplify the joy this holiday season by spreading cheer far and wide. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Surprise ER or medical staff with cookies or cupcakes just because
  • Buy the coffee of the person in line behind you
  • Purchase a gas gift card for someone at a gas station
  • Anonymously pay someone’s check in a restaurant
  • Provide a gift card for someone at a shelter
  • Purchase donuts or breakfast for your local firehouse
  • Surprise a co-worker going through a tough time
  • Buy supplies to carry in your car to give to someone who is without a home
  • Take flowers to a family that is struggling and in need of some cheer
  • Take a box of diapers to a young family that is in need
  • Buy a meal for someone who might be without
  • Buy groceries for someone at the store
  • Give an unexpected big tip at a restaurant
  • Buy dinner for your neighbor
  • Buy a treat for your next flight crew
  • Buy warm blankets and give them to people living on the streets
  • Hire a neighbor kid to shovel for an elderly person on your street
  • Surprise your child’s teacher with a holiday gift card that’s bigger than usual

If you don’t have the opportunity to do any of these, we’ve listed a few of our favorite nonprofit organizations, both national organizations and those that are local to Colorado and close to our hearts.
